Here we are again my fellow freakazoids. So kind of you internet denizens to join us again for another week! It’s heartwarming to know you can’t imagine doing anything else at this time of the week than to tune into our latest installment.
So Jadie, tell us a bit about yourself…
Hey guys, I’m the project coordinator here at TheGenieLab! My job is to help keep projects running on schedule and make sure our customers are a happy bunch. As the smallest Genie (standing at a tiny 5″1) it also helps that I’m one of the loudest – when the rest of the team are over 6 feet tall, you have to make yourself heard!
When did you start at Genie?
I started with Genie back in November 2014. The business was going through a number of positive changes at the time, and I was brought in to help strengthen and support the project management side of the team.
What kind of projects are you working on?
Without going into too much detail (we have to be mindful of customer confidentiality), I’ve been lucky to work on projects that range from small, local businesses to nationally recognised brands – I’ve even had the opportunity to work with some of our overseas clients. No two projects have been the same and I’ve met some great people who have been an absolute pleasure to work with.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge for me so far has been adjusting to the pace here at Genie – we have so many different clients across the globe, each with their own unique projects and challenges; getting to know them all has been a real learning experience.
What do you like to do for fun?
Work out! I’m the office fitness fanatic, so when I’m not sat at my desk you can usually find me at the gym, picking heavy stuff up and putting heavy stuff down! I like to think that I apply the same level of discipline to my work as I do my fitness – it doesn’t matter what you do in life, you’re accountable for your own success.
If you were an Ecommerce store what would you be?
I think I’d probably be something like Etsy, I love how ecommerce gives creative people a platform to showcase and sell their art… and I’m a sucker for handmade jewelry!
Big thanks to our Lauren Karamouzis for putting together this piece.
